Notices, Disclaimers, Cautions and Warnings
Welcome to the official Wisconsin Department of Corrections Victim Web Site.
Purpose
This data is being provided on the Internet to make information more easily available and accessible to victims/survivors, family members of victims, witnesses, and the public. It is not intended to warn about any specific individual. This Web site allows the criminal justice community to promote public awareness on a variety of topics including victim services, victim/survivor issues, the correctional system, and the parole process. This Web site will also allow enrolled victims/survivors, their family members, and witnesses to view information about offenders who are supervised by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
Scope
After providing services to victims for many years, the Department established the Office of Victim Services and Programs in February of 2000. Since 1988, approximately 24,000 victims/survivors, family members, and witnesses have enrolled to receive notification services. Since 1993, a full-time DOC victim advocate has provided victims with information, support and referral. Since 1997, the Department has provided a toll-free automated phone service to allow victims to access information on offenders who are incarcerated or under parole supervision. More information about the Office of Victim Services and Programs and the history of victim services in the Department can be found on the Victim Services page.
The Wisconsin Department of Corrections sex offender registry was established in June 1997 due to the enactment of Wisconsin Act 440 - Wisconsin Statutes 301.45 and 301.46. This law requires individuals who have been convicted of or adjudicated for certain sexual offenses to register with the Department. By law, the registry generally contains information on those individuals who were convicted of or adjudicated for, incarcerated, or on supervision for a sex offense on or after December 25, 1993. It is not a list of every person who has ever committed, been arrested for, or convicted of or adjudicated for a sex offense. The information contained in the registry will not reflect the entire criminal history of a particular individual. The inclusion of any offender on this Web site should not be construed as implying a higher or lower likelihood of that offender re-offending or of any higher or lower risk to the community from that offender.
Individuals are included in the registry solely by virtue of their conviction record and state law.
Accuracy of Information
DOC updates the information on this Web site regularly to ensure that it is as accurate and current as possible. However, you are cautioned that the information provided on this site can change quickly, and may not always reflect the most current services and contacts, the current residence, status or other information regarding the offender.
For offenders required to register in the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry, each registrant submits registry information, and sometimes the information provided is not accurate. Sometimes registrants fail to notify DOC about a change in residence, status, or other information.
DOC cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. DOC cannot independently confirm the accuracy of all information. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is not responsible for any errors or omissions produced by secondary dissemination of this information.
If you believe that any of the information contained on this Web site is inaccurate, please send us your comments. You can contact the Office of Victim Services and Programs and/or the Sex Offender Registry Program by electronic message or phone as provided on the Agency Contacts page.
It is not the intent of the Legislature or the Department that this information be used to injure, harass, or commit a criminal act against offenders (including persons named in the registry), their families, or employers. Anyone who takes any criminal action against these offenders, including vandalism of property, physical assault, or verbal or written threats of harm against these registrants, their families or employers is subject to criminal prosecution.
